About CAPS

At the University of Mary Washington, Counseling and Psychological Services, known as CAPS, helps students with issues from exam anxiety to post-traumatic stress disorder. Currently, CAPS has a staff of three full-time licensed professionals, two part-time licensed professionals and three trainees who help students with personal, social, and independence issues, among others.

According to its website, CAPS offers “crisis intervention, consultation, community referrals, and training and educational outreach programs to the entire UMW community.” Located in room 106 of Lee Hall, it is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, unless the University is closed for the day.
